Let me show you ...
It's breakfast time and the boys have been running to and fro between the kitchen and the dining room. Ewen and Iain taking turns to chase one another. This is all going on while I'm busy preparing breakfast -- porridge, which the boys both seem to enjoy.
They both respond to my call that breakfast is almost ready and that they need to come and sit down. Bibs are waiting on the table. Iain sits quite patiently, sucking his thumb. Ewen, meanwhile, puts his bib on, though we're a little of the opinion he may not actually need it. Nevertheless, he puts it on. His method: turn it round almost like a cape and pop the stud through the hole under the chin; then swing it round so the bib sits correctly. And proudly announce the achievement.
And today he climbed down from his seat and climbed the chair next to Iain and proceeded to explain to Iain that he could show Iain how to do it. He actually put the bib on Iain, who accepted the offer of Ewen putting the bib on him. Once completed, Ewen called out that Iain also had his bib on, and that he showed him how to do it. I had to chuckle. They do get on well together!
