It's been awhile since I sat down to write a short missive about the goings on of two little boys. Iain particularly seems to be growing up very fast. His is becoming much more of an individual, with his own character traits. He's still really cute though, just look at him standing there.
Tonight was an example of how these little ones learn and try new things. For some time now, both and Ewen and Iain have taken turns, at one time or another, to push a washing basket along the ground, and between rooms. However, tonight Ewen took the exercise a little further. He climbed into the basket and promptly rode it like a gokart down the two steps on the landing. On completion of the ride he called out, "Did you see this?"
This was fun, so he proceeded to ride the steps numerous times. Meanwhile, Iain was standing and watching it, amusing himself by placing a toy plane in the basket while Ewen was trying to climb in. A moment later, Iain decided he wanted to ride the steps too! Yup! It was his turn to climb into the basket for a short ride, which he thoroughly enjoyed. And as these are brothers, Ewen's modified the nature of the ride by suggesting they both ride together. This was even better, if one was to ask them. Iain sat in front and launched out of the basket as it ground to a halt. Laughs all around.
Clare was mildly surprised at the ingenuity that Ewen had exhibited. Next stop -- the main staircase. She warned against riding the main staircase, which hopefully will not give him ideas to try in future. But then he is a little boy, likely to take risks, as little boys are want to do.
